Basuki Asks Law Firm to Solve Porta Nigra Case

The Supreme Court rejected to re-investigated the case of land dispute as wide as 44 hectares in Meruya Selatan, East Jakarta. Hence, Jakarta Provincial Government is required to pay compensation amounting to Rp 391 billion to PT Porta Nigra.

Responding on that matter, Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama asked Jakarta Law Firm to study the case deeply. Even he refused to pay compensation, including material compensation Rp 291 billion and immaterial compensation Rp 100 billion.

"If we do not pay the compensation to PT Porta Nigra, just cast demands to us, no problem. We just order the Law Firm to solve it," he exclaimed, at City Hall, Wednesday (8/20).

He acknowledged, Jakarta government often lose in terms of land disputes. Currently, he did not know the next steps after the Supreme Court rejected to re-investigate the land dispute with PT Porta Nigra. "We often lose, therefore I instruct the Law Firm to solve the case. Besides Law Firm, our courts are also weak," he asserted.

 

The land dispute broke out since 1972-1973 when the PT Porta Nigra acquired 14 plots of land as wide as 44 hectares in Meruya Udik Urban Village, Kebun Jeruk Sub-District, West Jakarta, which is known as Meruya Selatan Urban Village.

In 1977, land which has been acquired was sold by Juhri claiming as a foreman and a citizen coordinator in collaboration with Head of Meruya Udik Urban Village, Asmat bin Siming using fake documents.

Such land was then re-sold by Jakarta government (15 hectares), PT Labrata (4 hectares), PT Intercon (2 hectares), PT Copylas (2.5 hectares), Junus Djafar (2.2 hectares), and Koperasi BRI (3.5 hectares).

In those fourteen plots, there are four State Elementary School (SDN), one urban village office, one office belongs to Jakarta Social Department, one community health center, five social-public facilities and one empty land of ex-BPPT Tomang.
